Research into Current HD Management in the UK
Two paedartic surgeons from the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow, Scotland are taking a new look at the treatment of Hirschsprung's in The UK. It has been many years since this was last done. The researchers Dr Bradnock & Dr Walker & The Royal College of Surgeon of England, have kindling allowed us to publish the first stage of their investions, the prefered type of operation carried out in the UK.
They are following this up with a study of chilcren present with HD upto 6 months old and follow them until they are 18 months. This should give a better picture of the outcome after the pullthrough operation. They are also involved into various studies into the treatment of HD incluiding enterocolitis.
